Beaver Lake, in Northwest Arkansas, was created in 1966 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers by damming the White River. Beaver Dam, was constructed to provide flood control, hydroelectric power, water supply, and recreation. The lake has a significant impact on the region, providing a reactional resource to Northwest Arkansas.
