Grays Bay is a prominent bay on the eastern end of Lake Minnetonka, located near the cities of Wayzata and Minnetonka. It serves as the starting point of Minnehaha Creek, with the Gray's Bay Dam regulating water levels for the entire lake system. Known for its relatively calm waters and scenic surroundings, Grays Bay is a popular spot for boating, fishing, and paddle sports, offering easy access and a more relaxed atmosphere compared to busier parts of the lake. Historically, the area was important to Dakota communities for wild rice harvesting and later became a key site for early settlers in the 19th century.
