Harding Spring

At the corner of Howell and Spring Streets, Harding Spring was once believed to possess healing properties. In the late 19th century, photographer Emmett Harding captured images of visitors here, adding to its historical significance.  Above Harding Spring you will find a ledge called “Lovers Leap.”  There is a short wooden staircase next to Howell Street that leads to the ledge providing a magnificent view of Spring Street, with traffic and parades passing below.
